Bring your old used or broken fire extinguishers to Longhorn Fire & Safety for responsible handling and recycling. We accept small-quantity drop-offs at our South Congress store and can arrange pickup for Austin-area businesses with 20 or more extinguishers to recycle.
Our team evaluates and processes every extinguisher brought to us.
When appropriate, usable extinguishing agent and components may be recovered. Extinguishers that cannot be safely serviced are taken out of circulation, useful parts are removed, and the metal vessel is sent for scrap recycling. This process helps recover usable materials while preventing old pressurized cylinders from entering ordinary waste streams.
Bring smaller quantities to our Austin store. For 20 or more extinguishers, contact us to discuss pickup.
Our team sorts the extinguishers and determines the appropriate handling path based on their type and condition. Please do not discharge, dismantle or remove the valve from an extinguisher before bringing it to us.
Usable materials and components may be recovered when appropriate.
